NATHAN'S 5TH BIRTHDAY PARTY

A Star Wars Theme and A "Jedi Training Academy"

The kids had to complete these tasks to become and official Jedi
  1. Complete the Obstacle Course Training
  2. Complete the zero gravity training (aka bouncy house)
  3. Complete light saber training with Jedi Master "Angelique"
  4. Take the light saber test (fight Darth Vader)

The kids reacting to Mr J's silliness. Mr "J" is a guy who does the gym classes at Nathan's preschool. He does birthday parties on the side and is awesome with the kids. As you can see by their expressions in a lot of these photos--They really had fun with him.

RAINY DAY INSPIRED ART SHOW

While Susie and Buddy were visiting us over spring break, we had a really cold and rainy day. Looking for things to do indoors, Juliana found these horse shaped cut outs. We all decorated a few and soon our 3rd Art show was born.. themed Wild Horses.. a few pics from our art show preparations and the show itself.

Our last "art show" was in Nov 2009 -- Look - shorter than the easel! : )

OK.. Marilyn..

Jules is easily entertained as she realizes that standing over the vent causes her dress to "poof out" : )

CUPCAKES :: They're not just for for dessert.

Inspired by an episode of Rachel Ray.. I made cupcakes shaped meatloaf one night- complete with mashed potato frosting and corn sprinkles.. : ) Kid friendly and delicious!

SCHOOL FIELD TRIP

Juliana's class was talking about "community helpers"
and went on a field trip to visit the post office, fire station,
and the police station. Here she is with a few of her classmates.

At the police station, they got to sit in the back seat of a real police car.
(don't get too comfortable, Jules!)

I tried to put it off as long as I could but Nathan recently discovered "computer games". It's amazing how quickly they both pick up 1. using the computer and 2. figuring out how to play the games on their own... Nathan often teaches us how to play the game.

HOEDOWN ON THE HILL :: SCHOOL CARNIVAL

Juliana's school had a carnival in March.
Here she is with her face painted..

and hair painted...
