October Fun

We don't usually give the kids soda so these mini glow in the dark Halloween orange cream sodas were a real treat for Jules and Nate!

We brought out our Halloween decorations in early October. Jules and Nate having fun with some of our dress up stuff. : )

A few weeks ago we took the kids to Toy Story on Ice. Here they are with their friends, Matthew and Alexa. Also - note Juliana's pink cast. : (

Our neighbor, Lyndsey also brought over her Halloween dress up stuff. Jules tried on a few of the wigs...

Jules as a blonde...

and as a red head.. We are going to borrow this one for her "Fancy Nancy" costume-- which is what she will dress up like for her school's "storybook carnival". The students are supposed to dress up like their favorite storybook character.

A few days ago, Nathan and Nick were playing football in the front yard.

Nathan looks over at our neighbor's yard and says "Let's pretend those guys are the hurt football players".. (see below) I would have hated to see that game!

Halloween costumes

We waited everyday for the UPS truck to come. Finally, it brought Nathan's Astronaut costume - he was so excited. I think he has worn it everyday so far.

Juliana came home from school last Friday wearing these pink vampire teeth.. yes pink! Oh.. and her new tie dyed cast. Cool, huh? It matches all of her outfits.

So awhile back, I told Nathan and Jules how I thought it would be cool for them to be Mike Wazowski and Sully from Monster's Inc. Well, Jules took me up on it this year.. She wants to be Mike Wazowski. That's my girl! Now, we have to figure out how to make the darn thing! I told her we definitely need a "Plan B"

So, here we are trying different balls to get the size right. It was like Goldilocks.

...too BIG.

...too small.

Just right..

Here, Jules is inspecting our work.

I'll keep ya posted on our progress.

Broken Bone(s)

Well, we had a busy Saturday. We spent 10 hours at the emergency room. Juliana fell from her brother's bed and broke both bones in her forearm. She was a real trooper through the whole ordeal. After I calmed Nick down ; ) ... we headed to the children's ER in downtown Charlotte. They took great care of her there, sedated her and reset her arm. She rested all day today and we are hoping to have her back at school on Tuesday. I am amazed at how resilient children are. She wanted to color today so we tried with her left hand (she broke her right arm and is right handed). She did great - even stayed in the lines.

I'll post some photos soon of Juliana and her new pink cast. In the meantime, Nick is trying to figure out how he can bubblewrap our entire house. ; )

Football Season

Dad and "mini me" - getting ready for a big game day!

Nathan and his good friend, Matthew at the fall festival.

Don't forget about Abbie

A few weeks ago, Juliana and Nathan wanted to make lemon cupcakes so we spent Sunday making delicious lemon cupcakes disguised as crazy creatures.. (getting into the Halloween spirit) The kids had a lot of fun.

Recently, Nathan wanted to "pose" for photos. Of course, I jumped at the opportunity to take photos. :)
Doesn't he look tough with "Blue Dog"?

Juliana was invited to a birthday party at the Panther's stadium. She had an exciting time. Below are some pics. ( Nathan showed up at the end with dad so he was able to enjoy some of the fun too )

First Day of Kindergarten

Today was Juliana's first day of kindergarten and Nathan's first day in the preschool "4-year old room". Jules was very excited and we are looking forward to finding out how her day went. ( 3 more hours until pick-up-- not that I am counting or anything!)

Bye, Jules!

Nathan unfortunately was not as excited about starting school today. : (

School Days

On Monday, we took Juliana to "Meet the Teacher" night at her new school. She was very excited and they were very prepared for all of the new kids.

Here are some photos as Juliana searched for her "name" and explored her new classroom.

Even Nathan found his name. : )
